Update in Subcutaneous Infusion - On Demand

Recorded On: 03/20/2024

With continued advances in subcutaneous infusion, it is vital that patients, nurses, and pharmacists are on the same page. This can be more critical than with intravenous medication in some cases. Problems exist regardless of the seeming simplicity of the process leaving patients with disfiguring site reactions that can be avoided with a better understanding of subcutaneous dynamics and ancillary supplies.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss SC infusion and appropriate patients for this treatment modality.
  2. Identify disease states and medications appropriate for SC infusion.
  3. Evaluate a new tool to assist with the infusion process.
