The Purpose of the Research Certificate Program is to provide the basic research skills necessary to plan and conduct research with minimum assistance.

This program consists of Five 45-60 minute webinars available on-demand.  These webinars must be viewed in order and will include the following dicsussion:

  1. Determining a Research Topic.
  2. Reviewing the Literature.
  3. Developing Study Rationale or Need.
  4. Writing a Purpose Statement.
  5. Research Methodology.
  6. Data Collection, Coding, Analysis, and Interpretation.

At NHIA, Garst is responsible for clinical education and services, Infusion Magazine Clinical Editor, and oversees a variety of programs administered by the National Home Infusion Foundation including the industry resident program, the National Benchmarking Program, and clinical trials and research. Currently, Dr. Haines is assisting the NHIF with the much talked about "Multi-center Time Study of Home Infusion Pharmacist Professional Services" and was instrumental in the development and validation of the Uniform Patient Satisfaction Survey Questions for Home Infusion Providers. Prior to her retirement from Ohio State, she served as a Research Scientist for the Department of Family Medicine and was Director for the National Research Institute for College Recreational Sports and Wellness. As a Research Scientist, Dr. Haines oversaw the research curriculum for the Family Medicine residents and wrote research protocols and grants. She also has publications and presentations on how to conduct research, write research manuscripts, and grant proposals.
