This session highlights the critical role of precepting and mentoring home infusion professionals, fostering confidence, competence, and connection from day one. Leaders will explore strategies to build supportive environments and cultivate a culture of excellence through intentional guidance.

  1. Describe core competencies required for home infusion professionals.
  2. Discuss adult learning principles as they relate to mentoring and precepting home infusion professionals.
  3. Explain evaluation measures necessary within a mentoring or precepting model in home infusion.

This session explores proven approaches to boost employee retention in home infusion, from fostering professional growth to cultivating a culture of recognition and belonging. Leaders will learn how to identify turnover risks, strengthen engagement, and build resilient teams that thrive in complex care environments.

  1. Discuss retention challenges in home infusion.
  2. Explain key factors that influence employee engagement and job satisfaction.
  3. Develop action plans based on employee feedback and organizational trends with turnover.

Lou Anne Epperson, MSN, RN, IgCN, & is a member of INS and is an Advisory Board Member of IgNS.

Lou Anne received her Masters of Science in Nursing with Administrative focus, and has been involved with nursing education and home infusion for over 30 years. She has presented to local and national audiences regarding home care, home infusion of Ig, nursing competency and education.  She has also published articles in peer-reviewed journals related to home infusion therapy. nutrition and nursing competency.
